Altus specializes in delivering comprehensive engineering, prototyping, testing, and production capabilities, including design, fabrication, assembly, and compliance support to our Government customers. The Material Coordinator will be responsible for Coordinate and expedite the flow of material, parts, and assemblies according to project schedules and Program Manager priorities.

We are looking for an individual that can use their Material Coordinator experience to add value and make a significant impact as an Material Coordinator to NAVAIR for this opportunity.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research government supply sources and commercial vendors for tool and material availability.
  • Coordinate inventory, accounting, control, and disposal of tools and materials used in contract performance.
  • Review project schedules to determine required tools and materials.
  • Locate tools and materials for purchase as needed.
  • Requisition tools and materials and establish delivery sequences for projects.
  • Reading Technical Directives to establish Material Project kit requirements.
  • Building Material Project Kits for future work requests.
  • Packaging finished work requests for final shipment.
  • Arrange for transportation of tools and materials within EPF and coordinate with outside sources.
  • Maintain basic equipment and tool inventory records.
  • Check delivered tools and materials to ensure they match the order before delivery to project teams.
  • Monitor and control the status of tools and materials requisitioned for contract performance.
  • Compile simple reports on the quantity and type of tools and materials on hand or on order.
  • Maintain a library of technical manuals, product directories/catalogs, and historical records.
  • Collaborate with Program Manager, Engineers, and Test Leads to identify and procure required materials, ensuring adherence to purchasing regulations.
  • Maintain all material and project-specific inventory records for the contract.
  • Prepare requisitions for government approval and arrange transportation coordination for internal and external sources.
  • Perform other tasks as required to support customer requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Active U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance (must have interim clearance before start date).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • High School Diploma.
  • 1-2 years of experience in material inventory and stocking, logistics, and purchasing, with knowledge of federal supply and property administration.
  • Familiarity with FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) and Part 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures) for market research and acquisition compliance.
  • Proficiency in computer data entry and document preparation, with attention to detail in grammar, punctuation, and formatting.

Work Conditions:

Conditions will vary. Capable of working outdoors and occasionally from elevated work platforms with a fall protection harness and in temperatures ranging from 0-120. The position will include: 45% standing, 20% bending, 15% reaching, 5% sitting, 5% walking, and 10% lifting. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Overtime is a requirement of this position.
